What is
İz Sür?
İzSür is an independent watchdog organization focused on objectively assessing the real-world impacts of sustainability campaigns. In Turkish, "İzSür" means "follow the trace," symbolizing our mission to track and monitor sustainability promises made by companies, public institutions, and universities. We evaluate the accuracy of their sustainability reports and campaigns, providing transparent information on their environmental and social responsibilities. Additionally, İz Sür has been selected for official support under "TÜBİTAK 2209-A" for the 2024-2025 period, promoting accountability and impactful practices through rigorous analysis and report cards. We are developing the project in collaboration with Lecturer Dr. Sezer Aksoy, with Prof. Dr. Andaç Demirtaş Madran as our advisor during the TÜBİTAK application process. As İz Sür, we also plan to collaborate with various Non-Governmental Organizations, including the Ortak Geleceğimiz Araştırma, İletişim ve Dayanışma Derneği, which focuses on Climate Literacy, to create content from the Aegean Region and organize seminars.

As İz Sür, we evaluate how well companies fulfill their sustainability promises. We conduct various assessments to determine whether campaigns and reports are merely claims on paper or if they truly reflect genuine efforts. Our findings are presented to the public in a clear and accessible manner.
What We Do?
How We Do It?
In the first step, we begin by thoroughly examining the sustainability strategies and commitments of brands. In this process, we utilize a variety of sources—from scientific research to social media data—to assess whether companies are keeping their promises. Additionally, we connect with sustainability departments within universities to explore their work in this field. We gather detailed information on projects and strategies conducted by universities to evaluate their sustainability performance and highlight their contributions and impact in this area. Using all of this information, we create report cards that assess the sustainability performance of public institutions, industry-leading companies, and academia. These report cards aim to transparently show how organizations fulfill their responsibilities towards the environment and society, promoting a stronger, more accountable, and results-oriented approach in the field of sustainability.
