Marmara University has initiated sustainability practices through its “Zero Waste” and “Green Energy” protocols and has clearly reflected its gender-equality and academic-freedom policies in its report.
On-campus water-footprint awareness notices and community-focused waste-management projects make its understanding of environmental and social responsibility tangible. However, annual carbon-emissions and energy-consumption data have not been presented in numerical tables, limiting progress tracking. The absence of international ISO or LEED certifications limits its competitiveness and recognition globally. Adding independent third-party verification processes and a comprehensive emissions inventory would improve the report’s credibility and level of institutional leadership.
