Hello, dear friend!
İz Sür is an independent platform founded by a few students and academics; as you can imagine, we do not have many resources. That is why we can do good work only through the effort and attention of people like you who care. First of all, we owe you our thanks for coming this far to help make our world a better place.
Green Explorer Guide
We do not want you to see organisations as enemies. Society can progress through institutionalisation and the accumulation of knowledge and experience, rather than through individual activities alone.
For centuries, the global system enabled organisations to continue operating at minimum cost. Because sustainable practices are more costly for organisations, they began to be introduced only when public pressure reached a level that could no longer be ignored. While seeking to create pressure for organisations that are not sensitive to sustainability to move towards greener and more sustainable policies, we also want to provide motivation for organisations that are responsible and sustainable.
To build a better society and system, we need better organisations; and for better organisations, we need a public that watches them carefully.
While calling on organisations to be more transparent about their activities, it is very important that we also remain transparent. We therefore need to be able to explain openly how the data we collect about organisations was obtained and which methods were used. To make this possible, we prepared a guide explaining the steps that people wishing to research an organisation and send us data should follow. We ask you to collect and send data in accordance with this guide. You should remain objective when collecting data and should not share any data with us unless you are certain it is accurate. A higher-level green explorer within the organisation you are researching may be able to access data that you cannot and pass it on to us. And do not worry: we never share our green explorers’ identifying information with third parties or organisations.
